Privacy policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

Who we are. “BPM Guesser” is operated at bpmga.me (“we,” “us”). This page describes how we handle information when you use the site and game.

Information you provide

  • Local storage. The app may keep certain items in your browser’s local storage (e.g. whether you acknowledged a notice, your high-score or daily result on this device, and a display name/URL you choose when submitting to a leaderboard, if you do so). This data stays on your device unless and until you clear it or we send some of it to our servers as described below.
  • Leaderboards (optional). If you submit a score, we may process the name, score, and optional link you provide so we can show them on a public list. That information may be stored on infrastructure we use (for example, a cloud database such as Google Firebase) and be visible to other visitors of the game.

Automatic and analytics data

  • Technical data. Standard server and hosting systems, and our analytics or database providers, may process information such as IP address, device/browser type, and approximate region when you use the service.
  • Analytics. We may use tools (for example Firebase Analytics or similar) to understand usage in aggregate. Those services have their own privacy terms.

Cookies and similar storage

The first time you visit, you can choose Essential only (no optional measurement) or Accept all (which may enable traffic analytics in addition to what is needed to run the game and leaderboards). We and our providers may also set cookies, use local storage, or use similar technologies for essential functionality, depending on your browser and our implementation.

How we use this information

We use information to run and improve the game, display scores, ensure basic security, understand aggregate usage, and as required to operate the service.

Sharing

We may use service providers (e.g. hosting, database, analytics) to operate the site. Leaderboard data you submit may be publicly displayed. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of us and our users, where appropriate.

Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Leaderboard entries and analytics may persist according to the provider’s or our retention settings unless removed or changed by us.

Your choices

  • Clearing site data in your browser can remove many locally stored values.
  • You are not required to use your real name on a leaderboard, but you must not use someone else’s identity in a way that is misleading or unlawful.

Children’s privacy

The service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such users in a way that violates child privacy laws. If you believe this has happened, contact us and we can try to delete the information, subject to the law.

International users

We may process and store information in countries other than your own, including on servers run by our providers, which can involve different privacy rules.

Your rights in some regions

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal data. We will respond to valid requests as required by law. The mechanisms for exercising these rights can vary by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do, and we encourage you to review the policy occasionally.
